Romano's Macaroni Grill

**The contest has now ended. Winners will be announced 4/20/09.**

When MyBlogSpark asked me if I wanted to try Romano's Macaroni Grill, I jumped at the chance. I am a girl who loves (LOVES!) her pasta. It's a serious addiction. I received my basket a couple of days ago and in it was a colander, serving spoon, cheese grater, box of the Creamy Basil Parmesan Chicken & Pasta, and coupons to get 3 more free packages the next time I visit my grocery store. Sounds yummo.

Earlier today, I decided to make this for lunch. I expected it to be like most box pastas, but it is much better. Inside the box you get linguine pasta, grated parmesan and romano cheese blend, basil and cheese seasoning, creamy sauce, and sun dried tomatoes. The ingredients seemed to be of a much higher quality than most boxed pastas. After about 20 minutes of a delicious smelling kitchen, it was finally done. I still have to get hubby to try it when he gets home later but as for me, I really enjoyed it. It tasted more like something I could buy in a restaurant rather than something I whipped up in 20 minutes.

Next time I'll definitely follow the quick "cooking tip" on the box and buy already cut up chicken breasts. Touching and cutting chicken weirds me out anyway.

You can win a basket just like this...

Just leave me a comment telling me what your biggest struggle is when preparing a family meal. Three baskets will be given away, selected randomly from the entries. The deadline is midnight EST on Sunday, April 19th. Please answer the question...an entry that just says "thanks" or something similar will not be counted.

I have a hard time figuring out more than once course to a meal. I am great at chicken with rice, but when it comes to veggies or other side dishes, I stink.

I find it hard to be consistent every single night, and for our budget, it would make sense to stick to a plan. Some days I just can't get it together on time to make dinner, so we get pizza or takeout. My biggest struggle is consistency.

I have problems with cooking way too much, seems i always cook for an army at least thats what they keep telling me and then nobody eats the leftovers, I think it comes from have a large family growing up and my mother had to cook for 6, we only have 4 of us but I usually make enough for at least 10 and usually it goes to waste, so thats my biggest struggle is portion control when it comes to preparing meals so that we quit wasting so much and especially when food costs so much and we are having hard times these days, Thanks for hosting this wonderful giveaway

My biggest struggle is getting dinner on the table when I am the only one home with the two little ones. If dh or ds(10) are not home to keep them in the living room, I am constantly having to check on them.

One thing I do to make my life easier is cook meat and freeze it. I will buy chicken breast and ground meat in bulk, cook one pound at a time (usually while I am doing dishes or cleaning kitchen) and then freeze. I then just thaw out when I need it. For chicken I just break it up after I thaw it out - that way i don't handle raw chicken - YUCK.

My biggest struggle is just coming up with the idea of what to make every day.

My biggest issue with cooking is timing! The three of us like our steaks different. Ok really I like mine more done than the rest and I never get my done right or when I do then theirs are overcooked. Aside from that its just finding the time in our busy world to do something thats an actual meal. I LOVE to cook and try new things but finding the time for any of that is another issue all together.

The hardest thing in our house is having the time to make a long dinner due to the kids needing to be a practices, etc. Lots of times we have to make something quick. I have seen these in the store but haven't tried them yet. They look really good.

My biggest struggle is trying to cook with my 4 year old son "helping". 97% of the time I don't mind him helping, but sometimes (3%) I could have made an entire dinner in half the time! Thanks for the giveaway, these look like a timesaver!

My biggest problem when trying to plan a family dinnner is working around the kids' schedule. They have practice after school, sometimes until 5, for school sports and then have soccer practice, trumpet lessons, etc. after that. It's hard to be able to something for one at one time that the other can warm up.

My biggest struggle is not having enough burners on the stove. There are four, but the big pans crowd out the little pans and make it hard for everything to stay hot at the same time.

My biggest struggle is just plain TIME. I am always rushed and sometimes it really shows in the meal I put on the table. I love Macaroni Grill and would love to try their home product now.

My biggest challenge is finding ways for my 5 year old daughter to help. She loves helping in the kitchen.

My biggest struggle is trying to cook and while keeping my 3 year old and toddler entertained and away from the cooking area. I usually have them sitting at the table with a snack and activity but they want my attention always when my hands are covered with something or I need to be at the stove stirring or turning something. Love those Macaroni Grill kits, they are wonderful

My biggest struggle when preparing a meal is timing everything so that it all gets done at the same time and putting together a menu with several different items on it to satisfy all the food groups. I enjoy cooking, but as a mom of four - it can be a struggle to get everything done. I am excited to try this new product by Romano's Macaroni Grill - I had no idea this was available and we LOVE the restaurant! Thanks for the giveaway!
