Why for the love of all that is Holy would someone carpet a porch? Especially one that has no roof and is totally exposed to the elements? We get rain, snow, sleet hail, sun, and all that good stuff. The carpet looks...ugh...just icky no matter what we do to it. It's gotta go.
We are going to build a front porch (wooden, of course!) that will extend along much of the front of our house. It will look so much better. If you're thinking about putting carpet on your porch, don't. Just...don't.

Amazing... I wonder at the thought process there. As in, wonder if one existed...
Onward to the Wooden porch!
"I dont like the idea of the outdoor dog sleeping on concrete, it seems cruel. I know! Let's carpet it for him!"
...that's my theory, anyway.
How funny. My husband was just talking about carpeting our porch yesterday. Of course, it is not our front porch and it does have a roof and screens so it is partly protected from the elements. The thing is the concrete is SO rough looking. And they painted it and the paint is peeling. It is a disaster. So until we have the funds to totally redo it, outdoor carpeting might be the answer.
I would NOT feel the same about a front porch under any circumstances!
lol my parents carpeted their deck by the pool I mean I get why but I still think its a bit silly. Of course they used 'outdoor carpet' never knew there was such a thing but apparently its for use outdoors... Now dont ask me why one would manufacture outdoor carpet but well I hope its not to smelly when you rip it up from all the different weather that has hit it...
We have fake grass on ours, along with oil based paint on the stairs. It is a nightmare, thank goodness we only rent!
What goes through people's minds when they decide that Carpeting a porch is a great idea? Seriously?
Why? I can not think of any good reasons. LOL
lol i dont get it either
I've never understood the need to carpet porches, either...it's not like it'll help with the feet wiping - especially if the carpet ends up being dirtier than the feet! :) It's the same with some people carpeting a kitchen...WHY? ;)
