Last night we had Hubby's boss over for dinner. He was invited, by Hubby, the night before. When his boss asked if he was going to get a home cooked meal, Dear Hubby just said "nah, we'll order takeout." After he gets off the phone with his boss, he tells me what he said. Here is what transpired:
Him: Boss was hoping he'd get a homecooked meal. I told him we'd just get takeout.
Me: Well, I could make one, you know.
Him: What would you make? It's easier this way.
Me: There are LOADS of things I could make. I can actually cook, you know. Sometimes. I'd make a dish I'm good at.
Him: Nah, we'll just do it this way.
Me: Great, now your boss thinks I'm a bad cook. Well, you're inviting him over again one day so I can prove I can actually do it.
So his boss came over and we had takeout. All in all, it was a pleasant evening and I didn't even have to cook. So...should I be grateful that I didn't have to cook after cleaning all day to get the house spotless or offended that Hubby didn't think I could do it well enough to impress the boss? Hmm. ;-) I think he was really just trying to be thoughtful and not put me out (he's usually sweet and that's just how he rolls), but I couldn't help feeling a little more undomestic than usual.

be grateful... Am sure your hubby thought would be easier on you this way...
Keep Smiling..
colleen
That is the way a man would think-- "she'll appreciate that I want her to be less burdened" (well, maybe less eloquent, my mental summary...). Now we gotta worry about this other angle, too?
Poor hubby.. rock and a hard spot, my man! Not that I'm high-capping, but... SINGLE! on this end! Sorry dude!:)
Hug your hubby...I think he was trying to make it easier on you.
nah id be offended lol
if that happened to me, it would probably be a little of both.
I can see Kaitlin's point (and appreciate justme's direct smile)
He shoulda talked it over first, maybe? Gotta admit it wasn't my first thought. Never is a man's strong point!
I think I would be grateful, but only because I hate to cook and any excuse I can come up with not to do it always makes me happy!
Mommy-- I suggest you retire to the bubble bath previously drawn-- and be sure to bring those pink fuzzy things, too!-- and let the swan take care of super c'set soir...
Of course he'll be in to shampoo your hair shortly, and then...
Oh,wait..
Am I on the right spot??
Because I'll find it if not...
